Celebrate Black creative voices this Black History Month

Today marks the beginning of Black History Month. With that, TADA! will continue celebrating and amplifying creative Black voices of the next generation.

Since TADA! was founded in 1984, it has been our mission to provide young people from all social, racial, economic, and cultural backgrounds with musical theater programming that inspires them to learn, be creative, and think differently.

Throughout the month, we will be releasing special theatrical pieces created by Black members of the Resident Youth Ensemble for Platform of Peace. Through Platform of Peace, a partnership with the Limitless Health Institute, young creators joined together to ignite change. They worked with several guest actors, directors, and artists, and studied various theater techniques, creative writing, and more. This safe space revealed each artist’s unique hopes and dreams for a better world.

TADA! will release the presentations beginning this Friday, February 5 on our YouTube Channel, Facebook, and Instagram. The final presentation will release on February 28. Join us as we celebrate each of our Ensemble members’ ideas and amplify their messages for positive change in their communities and beyond.

We must also acknowledge that Black History is also American History and should be celebrated every month of the year, not just in February. For a unique virtual exhibition on Black History, visit https://www.28daysofblackhistory.com/.
