- Broadway 1-Day Camps FAQs
Where will class or camp take place and who will be responsible for my child?
- Our studios are located at 15 West 28th Street, New York, NY 10001 on the 3rd Floor.
- Classes & camps are taught by Professional Teaching Artists.
- A CPR & First Aid certified TADA! Staff Member is always stationed in the 3rd floor lobby for check-in, check-out, and additional support.
- Summer Camps are staffed with an additional Teaching Assistant to support camp activities and supervise snack, lunch, and after-care.
What should my child wear and bring?
- Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. If your child is wearing a dress or skirt, please ensure there are leggings or shorts underneath. Always bring a jacket or sweater, as temperatures vary.
- Shoes should be appropriate for movement/dancing (sneakers, dance shoes, or closed-toed shoes). No sandals, flip flops, crocs, or boots. On wet/snowy days, please bring INSIDE shoes to avoid wet studio floors.
Students can keep belongings/backpacks in a cubby in the rehearsal room. - All personal items (toys, etc.) must remain in their backpacks during class (or even better – leave toys & electronics at home!)
What food or drinks should my child bring?
- Send a reusable water bottle labeled with your child’s name
Once per week classes do NOT include a snack break. Please do NOT send snacks/food.
For Week-long or 1-Day Camps, please send a non-refrigerated, NUT-FREE, bagged snack & lunch. - For safety, sharing food is not permitted, and all food is checked for nuts. Nut-based items are removed and, a replacement item will be provided. (If you use a nut-free butter, leave a note in the bag so we know.)
- Campers’ daily snack and lunch breaks will be held on picnic blankets or tables & chairs, and preceded by hand-washing and bathroom breaks.
What do I need to do BEFORE the first day?
Please complete our simple Student Info Form, emailed immediately after you registered. We do not need medical forms from your child’s physician. If you cannot find this email, request a duplicate from education@tadatheater.com
What if my child has medical needs or medication?
- Please include all info about your child’s medical needs in the Student Info Form (see above.) TADA! staff do not generally administer medication or inhalers, except in the event of a major/life-threatening emergency (Epi-Pen, seizure response meds, etc.) in which case program staff can administer meds as permitted by law and based on proper advance authorization & training.
- If your child carries such emergency medication with them, please do the following: Bring it on the first day of class or camp in its original, labeled container. Give our TADA! Staff member a note detailing the type of allergy, severity of allergy (food-borne, air-borne, etc.), caregiver emergency contact information, and pediatrician contact information. Tell our staff member where the Epi-Pen/Emergency Med is located (i.e. front pocket of the turquoise backpack) and clear instructions for administration.
What happens if a student or staff member is ill?
Please do not come to TADA! if you have a fever or are ill. This includes (but is not limited to) vomiting, diarrhea, eye discharge, excessive cough and/or nasal discharge, etc. If a student or staff member experiences any cold or flu-like symptoms while in class, they will be sent home.
What are the TADA! Expectations and Community Agreements?
- At TADA!, we believe every student deserves to feel seen, supported, and valued, so we cultivate a community built on respect, kindness, and honesty.
- During the first day, Teaching Artists will collaborate with students to create Community Agreements to guide their work as a group, and ensure a positive, inclusive, and safer environment for all. If challenges arise, TAs will respond with care, using strategies such as gentle redirection, private conversation, or communication with caregivers to provide support and find solutions. If a student’s behavior repeatedly disrupts the learning environment despite multiple efforts to help them re-engage, TADA! staff will work closely with caregivers to determine the best next steps. In rare cases, this may include stepping away from the camp or class for the remainder of the semester.
Will there be a final sharing?
Weekly classes & Week-long camps have final sharings, yes! One-day camps do not. Final sharing dates & times are posted on the website with each class/camp description, and are held at TADA! in our theater OR rehearsal rooms, depending on availability. You will receive an email the week prior (or on the 2nd day of week-long camps) with more info, including the number of guests per student (based on space and enrollment). Final sharings will be recorded, and you will be sent an unlisted private YouTube link to share with friends and family, if you wish.
What can adults expect at check-in, during class, and at check-out?
CHECK IN: Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early, allowing for train delays/parking challenges.
- UPON ARRIVAL: Please check your student in with the Education staff member on duty.
Please accompany your child to the restroom and help them wash hands afterwards. This ensures that students can be present throughout class or camp with fewer needs for bathroom breaks, and keeps all our students as healthy as possible!
Please remain in the lobby with your child until Teaching Artists welcome students into the learning space (studios or theater) at the scheduled class start time. - DURING CLASS: To maintain a focused and comfortable learning environment, classes & camps are closed to observers, but caregivers are welcome to wait in the lobby or to take advantage of the kid-free time at the many excellent coffee, dessert, or restaurant options located in the surrounding blocks! Camps are a drop-off experience.
Please note that lobby space is limited, and we try to maintain a quiet atmosphere to avoid distractions or disruptions to the ongoing classes and the staff members at work in nearby offices. If you do remain in the lobby, please keep voices down and take phone calls in the stairwell. Thank you for helping us create a more conducive learning environment!
- CHECK OUT: To ensure every child’s safety:
Students will be released only to adults named on the approved pick-up list (part of your Student Info form.) If you would like to add or change the names on this list, please email us the additions at education@tadatheater.com.
A TADA! staff member will check adult IDs at pickup. While it’s possible that after a few days our staff may know you, we abide by this policy for safety’s sake. To get a head start on pickup you may show your ID as early as 20 minutes before the class ends.
Once checked out, we kindly ask that you and your child depart promptly, to minimize lobby traffic. - LATE PICKUPS: If you are running late to pick up your child, please call the office at (212) 252-1619 ext.4 to let us know. Note that pickups later than 15 minutes after class/camp ends will incur a $15 childcare fee per half hour..
What are the registration, refund, & cancellation policies?
- Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Full payment is required upon registration in order to reserve a space, unless payment plan arrangements are made in advance.

Withdrawals submitted within less than one month of the start date will receive a 75% refund.
Withdrawals submitted less than one week prior to the start date of classes, or less than two weeks prior to the start of week-long camps are ineligible for a refund. - Unexpected Closures: TADA! follows CDC guidelines re: health-related closures, & NYC DOE guidelines re: most weather-related closures. If TADA! is closed for any reason you will be notified via email & phone. Programming may or may not continue virtually. No refunds, partial refunds, or credits will be given for unexpected emergency closures related to public health, safety, or weather conditions.
- Cancellation: TADA! reserves the right to cancel any program that does not meet enrollment minimums, and will inform registrants no later than one week prior to the program’s start date. Full refunds would be issued in this case.
