Education Programs Manager
TADA!, the 30-year-old Drama Desk and Coming Up Taller Award-winning youth theater and arts education organization, seeks a highly enthusiastic, outgoing, sales and service oriented Education Programs Manager. This is a full-time* administrative position that reports to the Director of Education. The Education Programs Manager must be highly organized, quick and accurate with administrative tasks within a fast-paced, information-heavy environment. Position requires experience in the fields of arts administration and education as well as a creative, entrepreneurial mindset working both independently and in collaboration with others. TADA!'s Arts Education Programs include: In- and After-School residencies (Pre-K to Gr. 12), weekly classes and school break camps at TADA! and other sites in and around NYC for ages 4-14. TADA!'s Education Programs have received funding from NEA, DYCD, DCA, CASA, and NYSCA and are currently in over 50 schools and community centers.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Set-up, monitor, and cultivate renewing After-School residencies and workshops as well as book birthday party workshops;
- Manage database and website ensuring up-to-date and accurate information is maintained for the Education Department;
- Assist with organizing and implementing grant requirements for government funded After-School programs;
- Maintain correspondence with parents and school partners regarding program changes and developments;
- Assist TADA!'s Marketing initiatives for Education programs via e-mail/mail and phone, as well as for printed materials;
- Assist the Education Assistant in the In-House class registrations and with the departments sales reconciliations and reports;
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, and supervising part-time Education Assistant, Interns, and Teaching Artists including approving and submitting payroll;
- Manage Education Internship program;
- Assist in development and sales of new education programs;
- Represent TADA! at various school-related and public events.
- 1-2 years' experience in arts education or NYC school system;
- Strong written and oral communications skills;
- Superior attention to detail;
- Ability to work well under pressure;
- Take initiative and display flexibility in managing issues while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude;
- Must be a self-starter and possess excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills;
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Salesforce
- Occasional evenings and weekends required and;
Bachelor's Degree (graduate degree in arts administration/education preferred but not required).
*Position will start in January 2016 and, if need be, can arrange for part-time hours (short term) until full-time hours are possible. Starting salary will be in the mid to upper $30's plus benefits package.

TADA! Youth Theater, a Drama Desk Award-winning theater for young actors and audiences, is currently seeking a Wardrobe Supervisor for our winter production of The Gumball Gang: Crime-Solving Kids.
The Wardrobe Supervisor is responsible for working directly with the Costume Designer as well as the following:
Making repairs and alterations of costumes during tech week
Being present at all rehearsals during Tech Week
Being at all performances' maintaining and repairing costumes out to be laundered
Spraying costumes that can't be laundered
Purchasing any items that may need to be replaced
Assisting with load in and strike of costumes
Assisting actors with hair and makeup
Assisting with discipline in the dressing room with the cast (21 actors ages 8-18).
Working with and managing the cast of young performers is a key part of the job responsibilities, so in addition to wardrobe skills, this position requires a great deal of patience, enthusiasm and good humor! Experience working with children and/or teens is required.
Need to be available for all tech rehearsals as well as the run of the show. Tech week is January 16-18 ad January 20-22 with rehearsals from 4-8pm on weekdays and 11-7 on weekends. The show itself runs from January 22-February 15 with performances on Saturdays and Sundays 2pm & 4pm. The show is an hour long, wardrobe supervisor would need to arrive an hour before the actor's call and remain an additional hour after the final performance each day.

TADA!'s internship program offers students a hands-on opportunity to learn about the operations of a renowned youth theater and arts education organization. Artistic Intern: TADA! seeks an Artistic Intern to join our team. Intern will report directly to the Executive & Artistic Director, Janine Nina Trevens. An excellent opportunity to gain experience in the administrative aspects of a performing arts organization. Intern must be organized, computer proficient in MS Office software and Google Docs, able to multi-task, and possess the ability to function with a wide range of personalities and age ranges. We are also currently seeking an Assistant Director for our summer musical. The position requires working with youth and teens while assisting in rehearsals and Ensemble events. Education Intern: TADA! is seeking Education Interns to support TADA!'s renowned arts education work through arts administration and/or direct teaching artist opportunities. In addition to providing hands-on assistance and observation of our Education Programs, interns will learn how to create, manage and produce effective theater programming for youth. Interns are expected to have a commitment to theater and education, provide administrative support to the Education staff, be well organized and have strong attention to detail, demonstrate computer proficiency, and commit to a consistent schedule for at least one month. Production Intern: TADA! is looking for a Production Intern to join our team in providing assistance to our Production Department while learning about the operation of a youth theater from a production standpoint. Intern will report directly to the production supervisor and works closely with all production staff members. Intern should possess demonstrated computer skills, preferably with MS Word and Excel, and interact successfully with a wide range of personalities including staff, artists, volunteers, parents and a cast of kids, on the phone and in person.
