Assistant Stage Manager TADA!, a NYC non-profit youth theater, is seeking an Assistant Stage Manager (Non-Equity) for its upcoming musical, The Gift of Winter. Previous stage management experience required and experience with musical theater is a plus. Applicant must also have experience working with children and teens, and be comfortable supervising up to 30 children ages 8 to 18. High attention to detail, willingness to take initiative, work on props and excellent communication skills are a must.
Position begins December 8th and runs through February 9th. Basic rehearsal hours December 8th - January 17th with a break from Dec. 23 - January 2nd: weekdays (Wednesdays & Thursdays: 2:30pm ? 7:30pm, Fridays 2:30pm - 8:30pm and Saturdays and Sundays 11am ? 6:30pm. Performances (Jan18th - Feb9th): Saturday and Sunday daytimes with added daytime performances on Monday, January 20th and Wednesday, Feb. 5th and a 7pm performance on Friday, Feb. 7th. Opening performance is 7pm on Saturday, January 18th. Limited additional hours may be required as needed. Salary position. Possibility that the position could extend to other shows in the season. Teaching Artist Opportunities: TADA! is not seeking new Teaching Artists at this time. Note: TADA!'s in-school, after-school, and in-house class curricula are based in Musical Theater. All classes are team-taught by a Director/Choreographer and Music Director. Education Intern: TADA! is seeking Education Interns to support TADA!'s renowned arts education work through arts administration and/or direct teaching artist opportunities. In addition to providing hands-on assistance and observation of our Education Programs, interns will learn how to create, manage and produce effective theater programming for youth. Interns are expected to have a commitment to theater and education, provide administrative support to the Education staff, be well organized and have strong attention to detail, demonstrate computer proficiency, and commit to a consistent schedule for at least one month. Production Intern: TADA! is looking for a Production Intern to join our team in providing assistance to our Production Department while learning about the operation of a youth theater from a production standpoint. Intern will report directly to the production supervisor and works closely with all production staff members. Intern should possess demonstrated computer skills, preferably with MS Word and Excel, and interact successfully with a wide range of personalities including staff, artists, volunteers, parents and a cast of kids, on the phone and in person.
